Central Air depends on Air flows.
Ventilation is often the poor parent of HVAC while it is critical to people's comfort.

ONE SYMPTOM, MANY CAUSES
Air flow defects result in rooms or space not properly heated or cooled. The causes are multiple:
- No duct branch providing air flow to this room
- Disconnected air duct branch
- Inappropriate size of air duct
- Not sufficient air flow to also feed this branch
- Air flows preferentially somewhere else.

AIR FLOW CORRECTION
To each of the problem listed above, there is a solution:
- Add the missing air duct branch
- Reconnect open air duct branch
- Replace air duct with the correct sized duct
- Determine the hierarchical needs in air and re-direct the existing air flow to the space with the most need.
- Replace HVAC system
- Add dampers upstream of each duct branching.
As you can see, in most cases, there is no need to replace the furnace or air handler.
