The copper line connecting the outside to the inside units in the case of a split system must be runfrom outside to inside.

Ventilation system
Except if you choose a ductless system or already have central air, you will need to install a ventilation system. Ducts may be run in any of the following places:
- Attics,
- Above dropping ceiling,
- Walls/shafts

Power
The new Air Conditioning system must be energized. Often this requires the upgrade of the electric panel or at least the addition of a circuit breaker.

Thermostat
- Programmable or non-programmable thermostat
- Management System
- Location of the thermostat
- Wirelss Remote controls or fixed wired Thermostats including where to run the thermostat cables which connect the A/C system to the thermostat.
