AIR CONDITIONING UPGRADE

The older your air conditioner is, the more valuable its upgrade will be. See why below.
Energy Efficiency:
Over the years, Air Conditioning Technology has made considerably progress in terms of energy efficiency of the A/C systems. As a reminder the energy efficiency of a system is measured in SEER or EER. The higher the SEER (or EER) the more efficient a system is.
SEER regulations:
Twenty years ago, most A/C systems installed in residential areas were 6 or 8 SEER. In 1992, the minimum efficiency allowed became 10 SEER. Since 2006, California imposes a minimum of 13 SEER to all newly installed Air Conditioning.
Up To 21-SEER A/C:
Today you have the choice of installing up to 21 SEER Air Conditioning systems. The more efficient the air-conditioning system, the most economical it is to use it.
You may have noticed the use of "UP TO". When choosing your new Air Conditioning, do not rely on the "UP TO" but ask for the actual SEER of the system you are getting.
A/C Upgrade and Savings:

For example, if today running your 10-SEER air conditioning costs $1,000 dollars a year in utility bill then upgrading your A/C system to a 15 SEER will save you 470$ a year or it will save you $660 when installing a 21 SEER system.
